DR. ANGELO, DC, CCSP®

A native Californian, Dr. Timothy Angelo went into the chiropractic health care field because of his driven desire to provide the most advanced and effective natural health care.

In 2006, Dr. Angelo moved to El Dorado Hills and opened NorCal Spine & Sport, with a goal to offer patients attentive care providing the best in soft tissue treatment and one-on-one physical reconditioning protocol. Dr. Angelo is on the cutting edge of the future of health care with the latest natural techniques and treatments for effectively treating all types of injuries.

Education

Dr. Angelo attended UC Davis for his undergraduate education where he graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science (Kinesiology). Prior to graduating from UC Davis, Dr. Angelo studied and worked in the physical therapy and athletic training field for over 3 years where he learned numerous physiotherapy, athletic training and rehabilitation techniques which he has applied to his practice today. Following graduation, he then completed his doctoral studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic West and graduated in 2005. After graduation, he performed an internship with a well- recognized sports chiropractic clinic, Champion Chiropractic Clinic. Here Dr. Angelo was able to work with and treat many elite athletes, including tri-athletes, baseball, football, soccer, basketball, tennis, mixed martial arts and numerous other professional and Olympic athletes.

Specialty Education

After learning from Dr. Janzen for over two years, Dr. Angelo began taking post-doctorate and continuing education courses that emphasized sports injuries. In 2005, Dr. Angelo completed the coursework and examination to become Full-Body certified in Active Release Techniques® (ART®), a patented and complete soft tissue injury management system, developed and taught by Dr. Mike Leahy of Colorado Springs, with over 500 protocols that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.  Dr. Angelo distinguished himself as the first chiropractor in El Dorado County to provide ART as an adjunct to joint and sports rehabilitation.  Since then, Dr. Angelo has successfully and non-surgically had the privilege of helping numerous patients/athletes with repetitive motion injuries, overuse injuries, as well as chronic and acute pain problems.

In 2005, Dr. Angelo completed a 105 hour postgraduate program and examination to become a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP), a practical objective-based solutions for treating the extremities taught by Dr. Kevin Hearon of Idaho, the foremost leader in Chiropractic extremity diagnosis, technique and management.  Completion of the program demonstrates proficiency in advanced principles of TMJ, ribs, shoulder girdle, upper extremity manipulation, lower extremity manipulation, extremity rehabilitation, advanced principles of foot, gait, and orthotics, soft tissue methods for the spine and extremities, and global assessment of the extremities.

In 2006, Dr. Angelo completed multiple levels of coursework and examination to become a LEVEL 3 Full Body Certified Provider in Graston Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Technique® and certified in FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab), a system that incorporates patented tools to effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis and chronic inflammation.  Completion of the program demonstrates expertise in advanced principles and the implementation of rehabilitative methods and treatments geared at achieving optimal results.

In 2014, Dr. Angelo completed coursework for the ART® Long Tract Nerve Entrapment program. As an ART Nerve Entrapment Certified Provider, Dr. Angelo is actually able to glide an entrapped nerve through the soft tissues to the maximum extent possible through moving every joint and body part that the nerve crosses to physically “unstick it”. With this new nerve gliding treatment, symptoms such as numbness, tingling and burning in the hands, arms, legs and feet can easily be resolved in a very short period of time.

In 2014, Dr. Angelo completed the coursework and testing to become Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified. The TPI Certification program is an evidence based, educational pathway designed to teach industry professionals how to increase player performance through a deep understanding of the of how the body functions during the golf swing, The Body-Swing Connection.

In 2015, Dr. Angelo became a Certified RockTape Doctor through RockTape’s Fascial Movement Taping certification courses.  This popular therapy helps to stabilize the injured area after treatment as well as speed up the recovery time through decreasing inflammation, decreasing pain, and optimizing healing.  RockTape allows patients to return to activities during the injury phase as well as supports the body through movement and exercise.

With his functional treatment/rehabilitation approach and success with soft tissue and repetitive stress injuries, Dr. Angelo has quickly become an instrumental, rehabilitation resource for numerous athletes, both endurance and extreme, around Northern California. In addition, Dr. Angelo serves as a community-wide educator and speaker by conducting various workshops/seminars for various interest groups, clubs, and companies.  Dr. Angelo continues to support our local community by providing care as an on-site doctor/chiropractor to numerous endurance and extreme sporting events (5K, 10K, Half Marathons, Marathons, Duathlons, Triathlons, CrossFit Competitions, Olympic Lifting Competitions, etc.) produced by local race directors and gyms.

Dr. Angelo has a strong belief in community service and is dedicated to giving his knowledge to young athletes. Presently, he provides patients with a specialized service that succeeds where standard chiropractic and physical therapy do not. His final approach is to teach specific strength, reconditioning and flexibility exercises that allow the patient to maintain their results.  Dr. Angelo is also extremely eager to volunteer his time helping out with local youth sports programs throughout the El Dorado and Sacramento regions as well as working with local charitable organizations and ministries.

Dr. Angelo has always had an interest in sports and has been involved in athletics his entire life, including soccer, football, surfing, running, skiing, and golf.  He also enjoys spending time with his family as well as hiking and walking throughout beautiful El Dorado County.  Dr. Angelo’s passion for an active lifestyle is conveyed through his treatment approach and attention to detail.
