HEADACHES

Anatomy & Physiology:

Headaches often originate from muscular tension, cervical spine dysfunction, or vascular and neurological factors. The upper cervical spine (C1-C3) and suboccipital muscles frequently refer pain to the head. Trigger points in the neck and shoulder can contribute to tension-type and cervicogenic headaches.

• Migraines (with or without aura)

• Postural strain headaches

Common Symptoms

• Dull, aching head pain

• Neck or shoulder tightness
